Baton Rouge, 9:45 PM: Whataburger last night, Chili’s tonight. Even though I might not have been able to work Chick-fil-A or Raising Cane’s into my schedule (yet, Raising Cane’s has a good shot for on my way to the airport tomorrow though), I’ve eaten at what I consider to be both my primary targets for this trip. They were also both just as awesome as I anticipated and remembered, so hopefully that can gold me over for the next three months and a few days until I find myself back in Dallas. Or, you know, maybe that unplanned as of yet April trip will find me in a location with some good food.
Fortunately I still have plenty of entertainment for me trip back tomorrow since watching videos the entire plane trip really does make it go quite a bit faster. On the way here it ended up being four different TV episodes, but for the way back I’m planning on the Battlestar Galactica miniseries which is about three hours long. Since it isn’t broken up into episodes I’ve been hesitant to ever watch it while I’ve been bored because I had to be ready for a LotR-sized time investment if I was to sit through all of it.
Baton Rouge, Personal - Seattle
Baton Rouge, 10:40 PM: I’ve had what effectively amounts to the same meal three times today, and none of the times has it even been remotely healthy. In Seattle I got some chicken nuggets and fries at Wendy’s at the airport since that was one of the few things open at 7:30 in the morning, and I was about to get on a 4 hour flight. Once in Houston, I ran across a Popeye’s, so I got my usual chicken strips and fries (this was at 2:30 Central, or what would amount to a normal lunch time for me otherwise). Once I got to my hotel here in Baton Rouge, I knew I wasn’t hungry enough to make Chili’s worth it (but it’s oh so close, just waiting for tomorrow evening), so I sought out my Whataburger and got chicken and fries there as well. Don’t judge, I heat healthy(ier) in Seattle compared to in Dallas, so I view my trips back as good times to get all my cravings out of my system that have built up.
Texas still really doesn’t get the fact that they’re supposed to have warmer weather than Seattle with another winter storm in Dallas and temperatures in Houston 10 degrees below what it was in Seattle at the time when I landed. I can’t exactly claim it’s warm here, but at least it’s on par and the form of precipitation is the same. Hear me, weather gods, I do not want to be stuck here. Make it snow or ice and you will pay dearly.
