Gotta Collect ‘Em All (of Everything)
Dallas, 11:15 PM: Pokemon was just one of the aspects of gaming in my childhood that preyed on my desire of collectible things (I played those games in literally the least effective way possible). The Animal Crossing trading cards in the era of the GBA e-Reader was another. Now, there’s this game called Skylanders out where the way you play the game is by collecting (in real life) little figurines that you put onto a special peripheral, and then they become the character you play in the game. There are 32 of said figurines, so the costs quickly jump to to have a complete collection. Granted, I don’t even have the game, but if I get it then I want the figurines because they’re there to have…
My day tomorrow consists of Thanksgiving lunch and then going with my dad to see the Cowboys game. Beyond that, I’ll just try to not spend too much money on the Steam sale that started today (even though I already have bought one game). It’s also nice that I haven’t just gotten off a plane at this point in the week like in Thanksgivings past. Note to self: find reasons to be in (or at least near) Dallas the weekend before Thanksgiving in the future.
