A Mango A Day Keeps The Apples (and Androids) Away

July 26th, 2011 @ 11:59 PM

If you’re one of my stalkers using a Windows Phone 7 device, good news! Today the upcoming “Mango” release RTMed, so later this month clearly the best devices on the market will become even more awesome. Have I done a good enough job selling them yet? In all honesty, I still don’t regret leaving iPhone land, and while part of my mind still finds Android intriguing, I wouldn’t want to give up my Focus to try it. Besides, the latter can always be solved with a Honeycomb tablet.

I went by Product Fair today, but I’m starting to realize (after my third time attending) that I may not actually be the target audience. First, I think it always coincides with TechReady which is when a bunch of MS people from all over the world are in Seattle, so it gives them a chance to sort of see everything that we have going on. Second, I’m “plugged in” enough to all of Microsoft’s projects via blogs and the like that anything I really care to know information about, I already do. We don’t really show off anything unannounced at Product Fair (case in point, the Windows tent is all about Windows 7, IE 9, and Live), so with the exception of being able to play with devices like Kinect and phones last year, nothing really has a shiny, new feel to it.
