Credit Where Credit Is Due
CCP managed to do what I doubted it could after my first explorations into the EVE world: make a somewhat compelling introductory experience that actually kept me hooked past the first couple hours. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some huge gaps, but with the other Enforcers around to answer those questions, could this become my new MMO of choice? Frankly, probably not, but it’s definitely hanging out around the #2 spot. Guild Wars doesn’t really count, and if LotRO and DDO don’t ever capture any mindshare with me, that leaves EVE alone as my WoW alternative.
Even though (for the time being) I’m an outsider just observing the Android ecosystem, Amazon is definitely causing quite a disruption that may have some very interesting effects. First they launched their own app store, then they beat both Apple and Google to the punch with a web-based music service. Is an Amazon Android tablet next? I wouldn’t put it past them, and if I’m still not an owner by then, it may be a very strong consideration given how much I love my Kindle.
