Exactly As I Planned
Sleeping in today, check. Going to see Dawn Treader, check. Watching football and being very excited that the Packers won, setting up the potential for a playoff game back here in Seattle next weekend, check. Really, fewer days in recently memory have been so perfectly executed on an already made plan. To be quite frank, I’m very proud of myself.
So how was my second movie in three days? I’d definitely place Dawn Treader as the weakest of the three Narnia movies, but in no way was it horrible. Mainly I just wasn’t a fan of the new main character they introduced (although I think that was the point, it was his “growth” throughout the story that was one of the main components), and just the fact that the whole world seemed very limited beyond the boat made it feel not as much of a fantasy movie as the previous two did. I get the feeling that if I were ever to go back and reread the books, I’d definitely prefer the textual form of this one more. Still, given my collection habits and the fact it’s part of a series, it’s good enough to probably reach the purchasing bar. My score: 7/10.
