The New Hotness is Tempting
In beginning to play around with ASP.NET (and I use the term “play” lightly as I’ve still yet to download anything), there’s a brand new version of their main framework called MVC which is in beta right now. In addition, there’s also a brand new thing called a “view engine” which allows you to write your code more easily and efficiently. On the one hand, I think it makes sense for me to learn the newest versions of everything, but on the other, it means that I don’t get to take advantage of the numerous books and stuff that are already out there. Ahhh, decisions… Maybe it will be better for me in the long run to learn the current stuff first and then just add the new stuff on top so I ‘m not trying to learn the fundamentals and everything on my own in addition.
I spent yesterday and today catching up on all of my movie transcoding, so my WHS should finally be up to date with copies of all my movies once again. These included the movies I had bought just to round out my Pixar collection, and now that I have them, it’s sort of tempting to want to watch them. The desire wasn’t there at all when I didn’t own them, but now it’s just so easy, there’s nothing to keep me from doing so. Well, except for time, and balancing it with all of the other stuff I want to watch each week.
