Bringing Both Sanity and Fear to Seattle
For our next story, we’ll head to Westlake Park where our very own Jeff Guebert is standing by with a report.
Twelve hours ago, not even the Seattle rain could keep almost two thousand people from gathering in Westlake Park downtown in a satellite version of Jon Stewart’ and Stephen Colbert’s non-partisan “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear” which occurred in Washington D.C. today. A live video feed was set up that displayed the main rally while various local acts were interspersed over the course of three hours. Both the D.C. and Seattle rallies took place without any major incidents.
The big question now is: what’s next? The timing of the rally was obviously chosen to coincide with Election Day this upcoming Tuesday. It will be interesting to see if this has any noticeable effect on the results, or if it was ultimately just a lot of hype with very little substance. Either way, it’s clear that the message from the rally was heard coast to coast. For dailygoob.com, I’m Jeff Guebert.
