The Laziest Mailmen I’ve Seen Yet

August 7th, 2010 @ 11:50 PM

In HP, mail was delivered literally to your door. This was my view on how mail worked almost everywhere. When we moved to Plano, this form of mail delivery was non-existent. Instead, the mailman was apparently too lazy to get out of his truck, so all mailboxes were at the street. Hmmm, fine, I guess a little walking never hurt anyone. This evening I went over to my lead’s house for a housewarming party, and in her neighborhood, not only are the mailboxes at the street, but they’re grouped together in clumps of maybe 5-8. So, not only do you have to walk to get your mail, there’s no guarantee that your mail is even delivered to your yard. What’s next, no mail delivery at all and you have to go pick it up at the post office yourself?

I went to go see Salt today, and while it was a good movie, it had a very strange ending for me. As the movie went on, I had a harder time guessing where it was going to go next. At one point, I was basically just along for the ride and wasn’t really sure what to expect, but I was anticipating there being another 20-30 minutes of movie. Nope, it was at that point that the credits rolled. I guess the writers decided they didn’t know where to go next either, and they’d rather make a full sequel rather than try to shove in another little mini-plot at the end. Overall though, a good movie, and a likely purchase for me. My score: 8/10.
