Quite the Talented Person

November 17th, 2009 @ 11:41 PM

Netflix has recommended quite a few movies to me that I otherwise would probably have never seen, and The Talented Mr. Ripley was one of these that I watched tonight. Like A History of Violence, the movie was essentially entirely character driven which normally isn’t a huge plus in my book. However, I did enjoy it slightly more, and while it still won’t be an addition to my collection, it did manage to keep me entertained. My score: 6/10.

My monitors happened to arrive today from Dell (even though the tracking information yesterday swore that the 18th was still the right date), so I’m now running and getting used to just two very, very wide monitors. I basically don’t have any more room on my desk even if I wanted to keep using one of my 17” ones, so either my next upgrade will have to come with a new desk, or I’ll have to do some very rearranging of stuff to make anything larger fit. Then again, I could just get rid of my lower shelf and start expanding vertically, but getting monitor arms that could handle that might just be even a little much for me.
