The Worse It is the Better
The reviews on Surrogates could have been worse, and likewise, I could have enjoyed it more. However, the inverse relationship definitely continues as far as my enjoyment goes. The main thing that I felt held the movie back was pacing, especially at the beginning. The movie was one of those that was sort of aiming for a “message” mixed in with the action, but unfortunately the balance just wasn’t quite right. It sits right on the edge of my DVD purchasing line right now, but I’ll likely just leave it in the rent column. My score: 7/10.
I have less than 48 hours until I’ll be on a plane again, so I’ll probably do what little packing I need to do sometime tomorrow. Basically, we’re just talking about a few Microsoft related shirts, as I have all the other clothes I need down in Dallas. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say it was like I’ve been living out of two places this month…
