Not Always What I Think

August 15th, 2009 @ 11:06 PM

Well, I decided on the theater that I wanted to go see District 9 at, and amazingly, it wasn’t showing there. This wasn’t some small, out of the way theater either; I went downtown to the Pacific Place mall where I saw Star Trek and Angels and Demons. My reason for wanting to go there was so that I could start to get some hands on experience with the Seattle mass transit system for when I want to take it in order to get to the airport rather than leaving my car parked there for numerous days at a time (especially important for when I’m home over Christmas).

Instead, I went to go see G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. This was a movie that I would have gone to see last weekend, but it wasn’t showing at a convenient time at the theater I was going to then (hmmm, I’m starting to notice a pattern here). The reviews I’d read about it said it was pointless, no character development, and just non-stop action of stuff blowing up. So…Transformers? I’d actually rate it about the same; it was entertaining and fast paced, but no, it isn’t going to be winning any awards for story or acting. My score: 7.5/10.
