The First Official Time Change of The Daily Goob

July 11th, 2009 @ 10:56 PM

Since I no longer live in Dallas, I’m no longer bound to posting on the Central Time Zone. If I was, this post would be about 50 minutes too late for my streak to continue. However, this is my first Seattle post, and as such, I get to start posting on Seattle time. In that case, I still have over an hour left before I’d be in trouble.

Even though I might be here now, Dallas didn’t want to let me go easily. We got on the plane, got almost all the way to the runway, and then returned to the gate because of a problem with the plane’s brakes being too hot. We then proceeded to sit on the plane for two hours before we finally left, so this post actually shouldn’t even be late by Dallas standards. Once I landed here is when the real fun began though.

Apparently the corporate housing company that Microsoft uses likes to make people feel like they’re spies finding a secret hideout when all you want to do is get to your apartment. I was emailed directions to go to an apartment complex where I had to enter a code on a locked door. Behind that door was a packet with my name on it, and in that packet were my keys and directions to the apartment complex that I’d actually be staying at. I successfully found it without any major issues, but it would have been nice to have an extra two hours of daylight or so to use in order to navigate.
