I started creating my story bible today as I said I should, and one of the things that stood out to me was already how much of my original idea was changing. Some of the changes were based on feedback that I got from when we were discussing our ideas in class, but others were simply new things that I had come up with on my own. Eventually I’ll have to stop making changes and just focus on elaborating, but at this stage, making changes isn’t hurting my workload in any meaningful way.
The Wrath beta is actually playable now in Northrend, so I did a quest chain or two in it a little earlier. The big pre-expansion patch comes out Tuesday, and that implements a bunch of the changes aside from the new location. My progress to 80 will probably directly be determined by two factors: 1) how addicted I am to WoW in another month or so, and 2) how much work all of my teachers decide to assign at the end of the semester before our last tests/exams.

If beating Pearce constantly over the lat few years isn’t enough, and a 52-10 blowout still doesn’t satisfy you, then I’d really like to know by what stretch of the imagination HP and Pearce have a rivalry in football anymore. The start of the game was actually really interesting with two touchdowns being scored in 59 seconds, but by halftime it had just turned into another “show up to get a win” game. Our last game of the regular season is supposedly against a really good team, so maybe that will actually cause a game pre-playoffs to be interesting.
I basically don’t have a choice as far as doing work on my story bible this weekend, and then I have some other assignments due at the start of the week which shouldn’t take up much time. I may not love all of my classes, but I at least have manageable homework loads in all of them. Manageable enough that I still have plenty of time for entertainment, and that makes it fine with me.

Today on my way to and from UTD, 3 of the 5 major non-highway streets I was on had a significant amount of construction work being done on them. Significant enough that in places each was down to only one lane. I’m not really sure why Plano thought that they needed to do all of their road construction at the exact same time, but apparently I do not have the same wisdom and knowledge that the people in charge do.
HP won both the JV games tonight by various margins of winningness, and then I’m going to HP around noon tomorrow to work with Mr. Barrows and be there in order to leave for the away game. I had a great plan where on away Fridays I’d go up there later than normal so that I’d already be there when I needed to be at the stadium, but with HP’s screwed up away game schedule this season, this is the only Friday where I actually get to put that into effect. Oh well, always next year, right? Oh yeah… maybe not.

Yes, today is Wednesday, and yes, this post might be more appropriate for tomorrow, but I have nothing else to talk about and don’t feel like coming up with something when this is just sitting here in front of be begging to be written about. With such puppy dog eyes, it’s just longingly looking at me, desiring so badly… say what? Errr… on with the post!
No game class tomorrow means that I get the great pleasure of going to UTD for all of 10:00-11:15. Unlike my Mondays, this (obviously) requires me to wake up much earlier in the day and therefore makes me slightly less happy that I need to show up. Oh well, one class then back home to play WoW for way too long until I have to head to HP. This week I know for a 100% fact that I’m working the games at HP considering that none of the head trainers are traveling this week. So nice to know something for sure every once in a while.

In my education class tomorrow we’re having a test, and since it’s basically just making all of these structured outlines for things, we were told that we could bring in templates to help speed up the work. So, part of what I made this afternoon was blank copies of the homework outlines we’ve been doing and, presto, insta-templates!! We also get to bring in our computers and notes, so it’s more just like a big day of individual work than any kind of real test.
With no game class on Thursday I have nothing to turn in this week for that class. This is good because it gives me a slight break, but at the same time it’s not so good since we’re now in the phase of the class where we’re working totally on our giant, final project document. This is basically 100 pages, so yeah, quite a lot to write.

I just now glanced over at Outlook and saw an email from Sony saying that I receieved a code for the public beta of LittleBigPlanet. Now, considering that this wasn’t a game I intended on buying, the fact that they sent me this produces an interesting marketing scenario. If I don’t like it, I still won’t buy the game and they basically haven’t lost anything. If I do like it though, then the chances of me buying it increases at basically no cost to them either. So, basically a zero cost for them with the potential of getting another sale out of it. Nice job, Sony.
Andrew and I played WoW together for a while tonight, so I didn’t quite accomplish my HW goal for today. What I have left is nothing big though, so I still shouldn’t be bogged down with any significant amount of HW for the rest of the week. Once again, no HW means more free time, and more free time means more time for fun things.

I accomplished about half of all my homework due this week this afternoon, so hopefully that should free up a little bit more time for me at night on the weekdays this week. If I can get the rest finished up tomorrow, then that means I’ll be HW free and able to do vastly more important things with my time. Granted, the top two of those “things” are watching TV and playing games, but hey, they’re my priorities and I’m sticking to them.
The football game this next week should be a little bit more interesting since we play at Pearce. Don’t get me wrong, 62-0 games are fine for the win column, but something like 28-25 makes for a much more interesting game overall. Well, that and we still get the win of course. The latter is much more important.

When I go off to grad school, I would not be surprised at all if about half the technology in our house just stops getting used because no one besides me can properly operate it. My dad can never seem to get the upstairs TV working right, but fortunately my mom is able to help troubleshoot that. Other stuff in my house might not be so lucky though, so I forsee the great chance that I might be handing tech support calls for the rest of my life.
The new server setup ran into a slight setback as the cable outlet that I was going to be using apparently isn’t active, so Time Warner will need to come out and fix that situation. This means that the streaming to my dad’s laptop is not available for the near future, only watching downloaded videos. Considering the streaming was a big reason for the setup in the first place, that’s kind of something that should be resolved soon.

When two teams meet to play a game, it can generally be assumed that both sides will actually do the playing. Not so tonight, and that’s why whatever went on at HP was most definitely not a “game”. 62-0 (that’s a 3-point larger margin than our state win) is a boring, long, and ultimately pointless reason to be outside for about 4 hours. Seriously, just give us the win and let us stay at home.
I made lots of what I’d like to think of as progress this afternoon on our whole media server/network setup. I can now stream videos to my PS3 and 360, and theoretically my dad should have a much easier time watching torrented shows on his laptop. Also, the torrents download directly to the server now so I don’t have much to do other than just make sure that they download properly. I’ll happily let our technology automate itself, but only if it results in less work in the long run for me. If I have to fix something every other week that breaks, this whole setup might be getting rethought really quickly.

I love having a full three days off from school, even if one (Friday) is taken up by other things for the most part. it just opens up so many possibilities for tonight. Do I want to watch a movie? Maybe I want to play a game? It doesn’t matter in the slightest because I can rearrange my day just about however I want, and that especially includes stuff starting late in the morning.
As if to make fun of the fact that I bought a DS Lite in Japan over the summer, Nintendo announced the DSi today. A little more of an actual upgrade than just a revision, the DSi adds in things like cameras, an SD slot, and drops the GBA port. The semi-good news is that it won’t be coming here until sometime in 2009, and if it’s anything like the Wii, who knows when I’ll actually be able to get my hands on one. DQIV is for normal DS though, and that’s enough to make me more than content for the time being.
