Perhaps the Final Night
Since everything arrived in Mesquite at about 9 this morning, I should have all of my computer parts by tomorrow afternoon. Depending on how effectively I assemble everything, this could possibly be my last post from this computer. Sure, “this computer” is a little ill defined in the sense of what I’m doing, but with the case, motherboard, processor, and OS all changing, I think it’s safe to consider this and the future one as two different computers.
If I had to wager though, I’ll be making another post tomorrow from this setup. I’ll probably get everything assembled but the hard drives tomorrow, but then I’ll make a post, do one last backup, and then start the whole process of moving the drives over to the new computer (since they’ll all be getting formatted as a part of the transfer). On one hand, I’ll have a squeaky clean new filesystem; on the other, I better make sure I have everything backed up that I want to save.
