Can’t Trust My Parents With Technology

June 24th, 2008

In the few days since I’ve been home, my dad has already had two tech casualities that he has required my help to fix, and the latter of these was semi-serious (he locked his phone so he couldn’t make/receive any calls from it). The fixes were very easy to discover (the first I just had to look at the device to see what was wrong; the second was a quick Google search away from a CS phone number). Seriously, if I went off to Japan forever and never came home, either all the tech in my house would just cease working or my parents would have to pay an overpriced “repairman” to come fix everything for them.

The test today actually fell somewhere in the range of “good”, a welcome surprise for not having been to the class in almost 3 weeks. Sure, having it be open book/note helped, but the questions were more “produce something using this template” rather than fact regurgitation (so the book was mainly used as the source for said templates). Probably not a 100, but I should be able to cope.
