Righting the Rest-Work Balance

May 1st, 2008 @ 11:25 PM

Having an entire day off was nice, but the world apparently feels the need to balance itself with three big events for me tomorrow. We start off the day at 9:00 with my Automata exam which I feel pretty comfortable about. I then get to come home, have lunch, and return to UTD at 2:30 for a Linear Algebra review. Once that’s done, I get to go back home, rest for a little while longer, and then head to HP for our first playoff game against Frisco. Not only that, but then on Saturday there’s going to be at least one more baseball game (this time in Frisco), so I get to drive to HP, go up back past my house to Frisco for the game(s), go back down to HP, and then finally drive back to my house. Although I don’t have a time yet for the Saturday festivities, Frisco’s prom is apparently on Saturday night, so I’d wager that they’d be late morning/early afternoon.

It appears that this summer will be spent less on an official internship and instead working with HP, Mr. McDonald, and some of the administrators/faculty at UTD about planning the game event for next year (aside from summer school, of course). All in all, I’d rank this as a better summer than last year since virtually all of those are things that I want to do. Amazing what a little self-motivation can do for an enjoyable experience.
