Tiny Text for Everyone (Except HDTV Owners)

April 26th, 2008 @ 11:55 PM

I started playing Mass Effect tonight (yeah, I haven’t beaten any games recently, but I wasn’t in the mood to play any of them), and while I really like the story and gameplay so far, playing it on the normal TV in my room makes the text almost impossible to read in some cases. The game was very obviously designed for HDTV since it’s in permanent widescreen, but come on, Bioware, let people who choose not to play on an HDTV (or who can’t) at least be able to read the text in your game! If I wanted to have to guess what what my button presses were doing, I’d import games from Japan.

We play Frisco (the non-Centennial variety) this week at HP on Friday night (Game 1) and then at Frisco on Saturday (Game 2 and Game 3, if necessary). That doesn’t conflict at all with my schedule at the present time, so at least for now, my week is fairly smooth. After this week, baseball virtually can’t conflict with my schedule until the end of May (seeing as how I don’t have one until then), and then any conflicts that arise then I’ll just deal with as they come (but hopefully I won’t need to because there won’t be any  :) ).
