Only one class day left until Thanksgiving!!! What’s even better, only one class on my one class day left until Thanksgiving!! What’s even better than better, it’s my earlier class, so I get to go home earlier!! Yep, very good day tomorrow. Next Monday is also the same, but I have my last HW due that day, so it’s not quite as good.
One month from today is… December 20th! Ok, duh, any idiot with a calendar could figure that one out. The more important part of this is that it’s my birthday, and I shall be celebrating in Vegas by seeing (I believe) KA (and ok, some gambling also). Trip to Vegas = no birthday present lists = no giant increase in game backlog, and it hopefully also = mucho dinero for me (or more importantly, más dinero than I left with/got as presents).

Ok, the Digital Logic project is down (probably not a perfect grade, but I don’t really care at this point), and now I’ve moved onto my Programming Languages HW. One of the two questions I have remaining makes absolutely no sense, and the other is just an explanation one. Maybe I’ll only get a 40/50 on this assignment, but that’s still an 80%, and I have good enough grades in that class already so that it shouldn’t hurt me too much. Yes, you read that right, two assignments in one night where I’m less than obsessed over the grade I’m getting.
Tomorrow morning at 11:00 I’m meeting with my Technical Communication teacher to go over the video she took of our presentations last week so that we can work on improving for our final presentations on our exam day. All this really does for me is pose a slightly earlier deadline in needing to finish up my Programming Languages HW, although I probably would have had it done by then anyway.
Friday I need to be up at HP at 12:30, and, of course, the weather is going to be “freeze my butt off” cold. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 82; Friday the high is 53 with a low of 41. Curse you, weather gods, for making my football training miserable!!!

I just finished the first part (yes, part, not the whole thing) of my Digital Logic project which took me 10 sheets of notebook paper to do. It was just going to be way too hard to try to make the computer make everything look like it should, so I just decided to go with writing and drawing everything by hand. Granted, this was the longest part of the project, but I don’t see myself doing any more work on it tonight. It’s not due until Tuesday, and the reminder of the project I should have no problem finishing up tomorrow.
My other project is nearing completion, but it looks like we will most likely be spending class time tomorrow wrapping everything up. Most of the writing is done, by my last thing depends on someone else who depends on a third person’s stuff. Out class time tomorrow is actually being given to us for the purpose of finishing everything up, so it’s not like we’re really running “late” by not having it done.

Aside from watching Shrek the Third for the first time this evening, my entire day has been centered around working on my two projects and Programming Languages assignment due on Monday and Tuesday. No Galaxy, no WoW, no anything entertaining besides watching the movie. That’s probably what most of tomorrow is going to be like also, but hopefully by Monday morning I’ll be done with everything and be able to rest after that.
As for Shrek the Third, it was good. I think as a whole I liked it more than the second one, but there wasn’t the same type of musical finish to it (although there was plenty of music) like there was in the first two. The ending certainly didn’t imply that it was the ending of a trilogy, and a quick Wikipedia search shows two more movies in the works. My score: 8/10.

The game didn’t become safe until the end, but that’s the only time it really needs to be. HP defeated Frisco for the second time this season, 49-28. Next week we’ll be playing Kilgore in Tyler. You may recall that last year our second round game could have been at Tyler, but we ended up in Louisiana. Tyler may not be my first choice on locations to play, but it’s way higher on that list than going back to Shreveport.
Once I make it past Tuesday next week, my life gets much easier. I shouldn’t have any problem studying/preparing for my exams, so I’ll once again have time to play games more often than just for an hour in between working on projects. I’m so ready for my month off, it’s not even funny.

I went to go see HP’s production of The Comedy of Errors tonight, a play that I actually saw last fall here at UTD as a requirement for my Exploration of the Arts class. As strange and weird as the UTD version was, I definitely understood the story from it, so that helped going into seeing the one at HP. Last year when I went to go see The Tempest, I had a similar preexisting knowledge of the play (we had to read the play in my Humanities class the previous fall), and two years before that when I was in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I had read the play all of 4 years before in 8th grade. My Shakespeare knowledge manages to just keep up with where it needs to be.
Anyway, jumping back to last year again, while I enjoyed The Tempest at HP, most of what I understood came from remembering the play, not understand what they were actually saying on stage. I went into tonight feeling like the same thing was probably going to happen (although with the UTD version, I had no clue how “canon” that one was), but it surprisingly wasn’t that noticeable. Sure, there were a few places where I didn’t really follow what they said, but I understood the entire play fine. There were even a couple scenes that should have gotten a much bigger response out of the audience because if you understand what’s going on, it’s hilarious. I guess that shows most of the people there didn’t were in the same boat as me last year where you (hopefully) enjoy it for the story that you already know, but you never really understand what it is that they’re saying on the stage.

One of my friends took the time to point out to me that the “galaxies” in Super Mario Galaxy are really solar systems. Super Mario Solar System just doesn’t have the same ring to it though, so I’ll go ahead and stick with Nintendo’s name. After all, if that’s really what you’re concerned about, you’re either an astronomer or not enjoying the game nearly enough.
One week from today I’ll be taking my computer home and once again working on fixing the sound issue that has held up my vlogging. Another of my friends pointed out to me tonight that I needed to vlog more, so let’s just say that I wouldn’t be terribly surprised to see one close to the start of December. I also still need to work on a syncing solution with my portable hard drive that I’ve yet to make use of. I think that all my month off of school is going to turn into is just a big technology fixing and tweaking party… with a trip to Vegas thrown in for good measure.

All I have to do is finish up my Digital Logic homework which is solely pending on a reply back from my teacher, and then I’ll be done with all my homework for this week. This is actually a very good thing since 2 of the 3 things due next week are fairly large projects and I figure the more time I have to spend on them, the better. Granted, I’ll still probably be working on them most of the weekend, but at least there should be less weekend work than there would be otherwise.
I picked up and started Super Mario Galaxy today even though I haven’t quite finished Zack & Wiki since, even though it’s not a Zelda game, it’s still be getting some awesome reviews. From the part that I’ve played, I’ll definitely agree that it’s a very good game, but I don’t know if it’s technically deserving all of the 10s (and one 11) that it’s getting. A 9, absolutely, probably even 9.5. I already like it a lot better than Sunshine, but I’m not sure that anything will ever replace Super Mario 64.
