The Coding Has Ended

August 1st, 2007 @ 11:43 PM

As of this afternoon, all the significant coding on the project I’m working on at my internship has ceased. Tomorrow will be spent populating our databases and debugging everything in preparation for our final demo, and Friday we will be demoing that demo to people here before we demo it up in Iowa next week. Basically, the project is over except for showing it off to people. This is a very, very good thing.

Now that I’m back in the land of Windows, I finally (after at least a year) updated my iPod with all the newest music on my computer. I’m basically using iTunes for all of my music management stuff now (ripping, playing, etc.), but I’ll need to spend a day reorganizing my entire collection into folders/directories that will make the files themselves much easier to find than they are right now. My goal would be to have all of the music I actually want in my library inside of my My Music folder (leaving the random songs I get sent by friends but don’t really like in my download/transfer folders) organized either by Artist/Disc, Genre/Disc or a single tracks folder with the file names along the lines of “Artist – Track.mp3″. Any of my iTunes purchased stuff can live as iTunes wants to manage it under the iTunes folder since it’s all DRMed and can’t be imported into other players anyway. This setup will also allow for easier syncing and manual management/transfer between computers.
