The New E3
Microsoft’s E3 press conference is going on right now, but I won’t be staying up to watch a stream or read a live blogging transcription of it. Too tired, I want to go to sleep, and then tomorrow night Brandon is coming up here with his mom and girlfriend for dinner and to hang out for a little while. All this means that I need my beauty sleep lest I be at below optimal energy level tomorrow evening. Sure, I could just wake up later for my internship, but that wouldn’t be any fun (and it means I’d have to stay later for the same amount of hours/money)!
As the big E3 announcements hit the internet, there is one that I really do care about and another that doesn’t affect me at all. The important one is that the 360 is finally moving to its 65nm chips which is supposed to solve the heating issues, and that coupled along with the rumored (I guess I’ll know tomorrow when I read the transcripts of the ongoing conference) price drop means I’ll likely get a 360 before too much longer. The price drop that isn’t a rumor though is the PS3, but all Sony is doing is dropping down the 60 GB version to $500 and introing a 80 GB version at the $600 price point. Still no killer games out for it for me, and I still refuse to pay anymore than $400, so no PS3 in my immediate future. Just to round things out, I don’t think anyone is expecting Nintendo to make any huge announcements regarding the Wii or DS, but that’s fine with me. I’ll still get a Wii whenever I can manage to find one, and with more games on the horizon, the pressure is slowly increasing on me to locate one. Ironcially, I’ll have better hours to find one once I start school again as my mornings will be entirely free.
