The Build is Successful
More experience plus a much more friendly layout (at random, but quite hard to be less) made the computer build today go relatively painless. It was still tedious, but that’s to be expected. The couple of snags I hit weren’t anything major, and instruction manuals solved all of the problems I encountered. I’m not sure that I’m ready to say my new desktop next summer will be a custom build when the Dell XPS is there as an option, but this experience didn’t make me any more negative towards building computers from scratch.
My parents went to go see Live Free and Die Hard tonight and claim that it’s a movie I’d love. As true as that may or may not be, it doesn’t affect my plans for tomorrow which is to go see Ratatouille. Next week will be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and if I go to see Ocean’s Thirteen this weekend sometime with my parents, the only movie I’ll be behind on is Shrek the Third. That may just be a direct DVD purchase without ever seeing it before. I’ve done that on a couple movies and generally don’t regret it. The two that come to mind are Galaxyquest (one of my favorite movies period) and Treasure Planet (good, reminds me a lot of Titan A.E.).
