No True Test Yet

July 1st, 2007

Seeing as how I didn’t even play games today, using Ubuntu for these 23 hours really hasn’t been a strain at all. I solved the sound issue I was having, and aside from that, everything has been working fine. If you haven’t noticed, there’s a new page in the top list. Most of my experiment will be chronicled here rather than in these daily posts. However, I won’t be using that as a replacement for daily postings. That may or may not be updated every day depending on whether there are any interesting events to share. As far as this goes though, you can expect a post every evening just like has been happening for over the past two months.

One of the things I’m putting on my “to purchase” list before school starts is a portable external hard drive. When I got my new thumbdrive I contemplated using it for this task, but I want something so that I can keep my school documents and other things synchronized between my computers at home and out at UTD. A portable external hard drive that I carry around in my backpack, plug into whatever computer I’m at, and just let a little sync program manage keeping everything up to date would be ideal and save me from having to remember to manually copy stuff to my thumbdrive or email it to myself in advance when I need it on other computers. The hardest part of the idea is finding a good sync program that would allow me the refinement and control that I wanted, but if I can’t find anything, that’s why I know Java. :)
