Ok, so grammatically it should be “good”, but then I don’t get to make the play on word joke. I’m not giving up my play on words. Never in a million years. Well, fine, never in a thousand years.
Today was like the first day of school. I hate the first day of school. Read, listen, read, listen…after a while you really don’t care about what it is that you’re reading or who it is that you’re listening to. So if I had to base my experience solely on the first day, yeah, I don’t like it. It will probably get better though, so then it will just become a matter of working on the same thing for 8 hours each day. That might be hard to handle.

Thursday I make posts just barely 14 hours apart and have essentially nothing to say. Today it’s been approaching 48 hours from my last post (still safe on the streak though), and I have so, so much to include. Let’s get started, shall we?
The alternate title for this post would have been “Hell, It’s About Time!”. Strange? Not in the slightest. In arguably the biggest gaming news of the year so far, Blizzard has finally announced that they are working on Starcraft 2, a game that people have been begging for since the release of the expansion for the first one. In true Blizzard fashion there’s no clue when this game will finally come out, but as long as it doesn’t pull a Starcraft: Ghost and go on “indefinite hiatus”, the world will have a new favorite RTS.
The title I chose for this post has to do with the third baseball game we played in our series this weekend. At the very start of the game (HP was the visiting team), Nacogdoches walked 5 batters in a row and threw 2 wild pitches to give us a 4-0 lead, and HP never looked back in a 13-0 run rule win. This next week it’ll be the regional semifinals against Brownwood, but the schedule might be interesting since HP has graduation on Friday.
What might make the schedule even more interesting is the start of my internship tomorrow (which could have been delayed a week more; we’ll see how that works out). I have to be there at 8:00 with massive amounts of filled in paperwork in hand, and hopefully I’ll get clarification on exactly how much of a commitment they want out of me. If I can manage it, I’d elect for a 20 hour week (which I know they offer due to an email I received back when I was notified of the offer). I think the toss up will be between 30 and 40 though because when I finally found out the expected time after my long search that resulted in no responses it was listed as 30, but I just checked again at the end of this last week to see that it had been changed to 40. Considering 30 was what I was initially “told” (I use that term loosely), and I did in fact make other commitments based on that (HP Baseball and the government project at UTD), hopefully that will be the max I have to deal with.

We played the second game against Nacogdoches of a potentially three game series, and we didn’t have a blowout like we did in the previous series’ second game. We did, however, win, so that results in me going to Tyler today (yes, today — this is my Saturday post). The thing is (see, there’s always a “thing” in cases like this) that the time for the game has been changed. It was going to be either 1:00 or 3:00, but now it’s 7:00. This means that what I said about one or the other yesterday no longer applies. I’m going to do physicals for the first part of the day and then get on a bus to go to Tyler around 3:00. HP stuff from 8:00 AM until probably 11:00 PM or so., and I’m getting all of 5 hours of sleep. This is going to be fun.
The party over at Alexander’s was fun; the responses so far to the episode have been extremely positive, and while he’ll continue to deny it, the seed is still there for one (or even two) additional series. We basically just watched some of the blooper stuff from the two series, watched an episode of House, and then everyone started to watch XXX. I left about 20-30 minutes into the movie because of the aforementioned fact that I have to wake up in 5 hours from now, so I should probably stop writing this post also.

I never thought I’d be saying this, but I hope we’re going to Tyler tomorrow. If not, that means we’ve been eliminated from the playoffs since we lost tonight. Last night should have been a 3-0 win, but due to two errors that kept us from being able to get the third out in an inning, we lost 3-6. Yes, 6 runs in one inning with two outs. Baseball sometimes just isn’t fair.
Regardless of whether we win or lose, I’m going to be busy with HP related stuff tomorrow. It’ll either be a baseball game in Tyler or helping out with physicals at the stadium. Both will take up the majority of my day, so I don’t really get a break one way or the other.

Almost forgot to make this… :).
Well, my life has been extremely busy since last night. Let’s see…I slept, woke up, played WoW, finshed preparing a website, got lunch, watched TV, and now I’m about to go pick up my sandwich for the bus ride to Kilgore. I actually made that sound much more busy than it’s really been. How very odd…

If you will direct your attention to the right of your screen, you will notice that there is now a “Vlog” choice under Categories to join the previously very lonely “Personal” category. While this should be self explanatory, every post that I make which includes a video portion will get added to the Vlog category in addition to the Personal one. I haven’t had a real use for categories up until now, but assuming I can remember to tag my posts correctly, it will provide a much easier way to find all my video posts.
I’m tied up with baseball tomorrow from 2:00 until probably into Friday morning if you look at all the travel time, so be looking for another afternoon post. Hey, I’m on a 25 post streak right now; you’re crazy if you think that I’m letting it end because of a baseball game in Kilgore.

Let’s get the boring stats out of the way, and then we can get onto the really important part of this post:
- I made the amazing total of 250 posts in the third year (“Happy Two Years!!” to “I’m So Ready For This”; up from 90 and 92 in the first and second years, respectively). This equates to over 2.7 times the amount of posts I made the preceding year and over 1.3 time the total amount of posts I made in the first and second years combined.
- Longest updateless streak: 15 days (9/2/04-9/18/04)
- Longest daily posting streak: 24 days (4/22/07-today)
- Post titles containing “…”: 15 (up from 5 in second year and higher than 13 in first year)
The third year really must be the charm with that number of posts that I made. So now that that’s done, what’s the big secret? Click on to find out…

Post #23 in my streak really isn’t much more than just a filler post to keep the streak unbroken in preparation for tomorrow. In fact, tomorrow’s post is so big, I’m actually going to start work on it tonight. It might just take that long to get ready. Ummm, gulp?
Yeah, this week as far as baseball goes…McKinney North had to lose, so what I said before no longer stand. Instead, we now play Nacogdoches, and of course my life can no longer be simple. Thurdsay we play in Kilgore (yes, that’s farther away than Tyler was — /slap), Friday at Dr. Pepper, and then Saturday (if necessary) back at UT Tyler. I’m lucky that Friday is the close game since I potentially have a “party” with the machinima group I worked with last summer to celebrate the release of the final episode of the series. Will there be a third series? My personal thought is not this summer, but I wouldn’t be overly stunned to see one start production next summer.

Once again, I miss a big blog event. Yesterday I broke my posting record again with 21 posts, and this post makes number 22. If I can manage to make one for the net two days, I’ll be on a streak of 24 on the third year anniversary. So close, so close, so close…
Next Sunday I’ll be helping one of the baseball players that I’ve become friends with prepare for his final exam in chemistry. He has Ms. McDonald like I did but just for Pre-AP, not TAG. Still, I think that they should be similar enough so that all my notes and work will still be applicable. Notes and work? Yes, in the garage since I refused to throw them away during the move are all my school files dating back until about the 6th grade. After a quick search, my two red folders were located which contain probably 95%+ of all my papers from that class, including my stored stack of notes, tests, and worksheets that I can only assume I used to review for my exam. A digitized form of all that stuff would be nice, but I don’t think there’s enough time in my lifetime (or enough money in the world to pay others to do it for me), so I’ll just make do with the hard versions.

The baseball game Thursday was cancelled due to rain. Yesterday when we got to Tyler, it was raining, and they just barely got the tarp out in time to cover up the field. Today on our way back to HP, it started to rain on us when we got close to downtown and followed us all the way top the stadium. I’m not sure what kind of “omen” this might be, but with wins of 4-3 and 7-1, I don’t think it’s having too much of an effect.
There was some slight debate over which round this actually was (and I was wrong, but don’t get used to it), but this was Area. Next week will be the Regional Quarterfinals against McKinney North, and we’ll play Thursday-Saturday at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Hey, that’s close to my house! Hey, that doesn’t matter since I’ll still have to go to HP beforehand anyway. *sigh*
