Never Looked Back
Thursday I make posts just barely 14 hours apart and have essentially nothing to say. Today it’s been approaching 48 hours from my last post (still safe on the streak though), and I have so, so much to include. Let’s get started, shall we?
The alternate title for this post would have been “Hell, It’s About Time!”. Strange? Not in the slightest. In arguably the biggest gaming news of the year so far, Blizzard has finally announced that they are working on Starcraft 2, a game that people have been begging for since the release of the expansion for the first one. In true Blizzard fashion there’s no clue when this game will finally come out, but as long as it doesn’t pull a Starcraft: Ghost and go on “indefinite hiatus”, the world will have a new favorite RTS.
The title I chose for this post has to do with the third baseball game we played in our series this weekend. At the very start of the game (HP was the visiting team), Nacogdoches walked 5 batters in a row and threw 2 wild pitches to give us a 4-0 lead, and HP never looked back in a 13-0 run rule win. This next week it’ll be the regional semifinals against Brownwood, but the schedule might be interesting since HP has graduation on Friday.
What might make the schedule even more interesting is the start of my internship tomorrow (which could have been delayed a week more; we’ll see how that works out). I have to be there at 8:00 with massive amounts of filled in paperwork in hand, and hopefully I’ll get clarification on exactly how much of a commitment they want out of me. If I can manage it, I’d elect for a 20 hour week (which I know they offer due to an email I received back when I was notified of the offer). I think the toss up will be between 30 and 40 though because when I finally found out the expected time after my long search that resulted in no responses it was listed as 30, but I just checked again at the end of this last week to see that it had been changed to 40. Considering 30 was what I was initially “told” (I use that term loosely), and I did in fact make other commitments based on that (HP Baseball and the government project at UTD), hopefully that will be the max I have to deal with.
