Occasionally when I’m bored, I’ll search for something on Wikipedia. Probably about 50-60% of the time, there will be a link in whatever article I’m reading that intrigues me, so I’ll open it up into a new tab. This chain will continue until I’ve spent anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour reading through Wikipedia pages, and I’ll usually end up nowhere close to the realm/subject that I started reading about. Usually I don’t ever come away with any additional useful knowledge, but instead just have one less hour to do other things (or in some cases, be bored).
Less than three weeks from now I’ll be done with school for the year. Aside from my exams, there’s really nothing left for me to worry about that’s school related. No more projects, no more papers, and no other big reading assignments (not that I was really ever graded on those anyway). Two weeks from tomorrow is the UTD Athletics banquet which I’ll probably go to since I’m eligible for an award/certificate. I really don’t know if I’ll do baseball at UTD again next year or not. I’d do HP in a heartbeat if asked, but I just fell like I could be making a better use of my time.

It’s April 6th today, and I was miserable at the baseball games today due to the fact that the temperature outside thought it would be a great idea to pretend to be January. I had a long sleeve shirt, pants, and a jacket, but I was still freezing outside. The wind made it even worse, so I went and sat in the dugout for the majority of the two games in order to minimize its effect. All I have to say is that it better be a whole lot better by Wednesday, so I’m puting out a bounty on the weather. (We lost both games, by the way.)
I set up our new remote for upstairs and will be hooking up the computer sometime later this weekend for the trial run of a HTPC. The second most idea setup gets quite complicated (the first involves Cablecards, but that’s highly unlikely to happen) with analog cable tuners, digital cable tuners, and/or ATSC (digital OTA) tuners all being used along with probably controlling a set top box, but this version is just a single analog cable tuner to record basic stuff and maybe start showing my parents how to use it. When my grandfather was here last weekend, he told me that one of my selling points should be the reduction in complexity that doing this should being since everything will get simplified into one remote and create one “system”. Not sure when/if I’ll play that card since simplicity is in the eye of the user, but hey, whatever gets my parents to pay for it works for me. :)

Tonight during my game class, Dr. Linehan asked if I would be at all interested in working on the actual project this summer and get paid for doing so. Of course I said yes (that’s what I thought I would be doing all along, minus the getting paid part), but there’s just one issue: my summer is currently tied up with Rockwell Collins. I spent the remainder of the evening preparing an email to send to Rockwell Collins asking what the time requirements would be for the internship there because I’d ovbiously love to devote as much time as possible to this game project, but I’m not going to do so at the expense of my sanity and sleep. Basically, in one paragraph of an email they sent me a while ago there was a 40-hour week and a 20-hour week both mentioned, but I was never told which mine was or if I even had a choice. If they want me full time my parents appear to support me rescinding my acceptance of the offer in favor of the game project, but I’ll know more once I get a response back from the person I emailed.
The baseball game today was just about 2 and a half hours (for 9 innings, which isn’t bad), and I still have the two tomorrow. I expect to be done with those close to 6:00, and as it stands right now, my only thing to do this weekend is church and lunch on Sunday. A movie is likely for Saturday, but maybe not since it’ll be Easter weekend and might be even more crowded than normal.

I really just can’t handle this whole post daily concept for some reason. Granted, maybe I never really have been able to, and those couple of near-20 streaks were just flukes. The strange thing is, you wouldn’t expect it to be that hard. I have a link at the top of my Firefox window that brings me right to the WordPress Dashboard, and making a post from there is only one click away, so it’s obviously not a difficulty factor. Being too busy (typically) isn’t a reason; only when I forget until the last minute to make a post is time really ever an issue. I guess it comes down to laziness/forgetfulness then because I’m out of other options to blame.
I’m already ready for the weekend, but 2 days and 3 baseball games stand in between it and me. Once again, we don’t get Good Friday off (or Easter Monday), but I have less than 3 weeks of school left. No complaining on this end. Actually, all the baseball games between now and the end of the season are home, but they’re spread out across really weird days (Thursday/Friday this week, Wednesday and Saturday next week, etc.) HP doesn’t appear to be doing so hot in district this year, so there may not be any baseball playoffs for me to be concerned about.

I may not have ever put the effort into trying to get the little countdown timer working correctly again, but that doesn’t change the fact that there’s now (not just now, but still) less than a month of school left. Actually, 3 weeks from today will be the last day of class, but I won’t actually have a “class” that day since my Discrete Math test will be on the preceding Friday (and I’m going to assume we won’t have a class after the last test) and I’ll have my last Accounting exam that afternoon. Two more exams that week, and then I’m done until August. The end is almost in sight.

Let’s make a post that’s short and to the point; I’m tired and want to do to sleep. Today was a full day, starting with church and going until about 9:00 tonight. At church we had a lunch, so that kept us there until almost 2:00. I had to get everything set up and then carry stuff out to my grandparent’s car when it was finished, so that was an energy drainer. When we got home I only had about 2 and a half hours to rest until I left for the CV barbecue that was at Dr. Harpham’s house. I stayed there until a little after 9:00, and when I got home I knew tonight would be a good night for sleep. In fact, it’s such a good night, I’m going to…zzzzzzz.
