Some Days Are Just Strange

October 14th, 2006 @ 11:36 PM

This afternoon I went to go see The Departed after hearing from a couple of my friends that it was a good movie. It took me about an hour just to figure out who was working undercover for who and who they were pretending to work for. Once I got that straightened out, I then kept wondering where the real plot was (which never seemed to materialize, except for the fact that all these people hated each other). Not a good movie in my book at all. My rating: 3/10.

Tonight I had to go see Avenue P in the Town of Q, a dance production at UTD in order to fulfill a requirement for my Exploration of the Arts class and not have to miss a Friday night football game. The music was songs taken from 7-8 different musicals, and they were tried to be linked by various short video sequences. The opening one (which lasted for a good 6 minutes) was just this video of Google Earth zooming in and out on various locations with various notes scattered around, and that left both my friend and me wondering what in the world what Google Earth had to do with modern dance (pun completely intended). That paper should be an interesting one when the time comes…
