69 Points, 21 Wins, No Stopping Us
Well, we finally broke the “magic” 60 barrier we tried to get to so many times yet failed repeatedly. This number is actually the cause of 10 touchdowns, and the only reason it wasn’t 70-0 was that the extra point on our last touchdown hit the left upright. This also extends our winning streak to 21 games, a school record that we’ve kept extending after we tied the old one of 18 against Bishop Lynch 4 weeks ago. With J.J. Pearce not doing too well, it looks like we might be headed for Division I again in the playoffs.
Preorders for the Nintendo Wii started today, and even though I didn’t get one (the only Gamestop I went to after school had already sold out their allotment), I’m not overly worried. The general consensus among people online is that it shouldn’t be too difficult to walk into a store on launch day (November 19th) and pick one up. Guess that means I’ll be hitting the Targets, Walmarts, and Best Buys around here on that day. If you think about it, the majority of my consoles I actually haven’t even gotten on launch day; my N64, PS2, and Xbox were all purchased months (or even a year or two) after their launch, I’ve still yet to get a 360, and I made up my mind after hearing the $600 price that I wasn’t getting a PS3 until at least a price drop of $200. Handhelds, on the other hand, I usually have gotten on launch day (GBA, GBA SP, DS, and PSP), but generally those launches aren’t as “controlled” as consoles (but until this year, console launches haven’t really been either).
