The “This Post Applies to Yesterday” Post
Ok, so technically I’ve been back in HP since 11:00 or so, but one of the players had a pizza/pool party at his house after the game tonight, so the majority of the team (myself included) went over there and stayed until a little after midnight. It was fun, a few people got thrown in the pool (myself not included), and it was the type of “party” that I don’t mind going to. No “questionable activities” going on, I know everyone there, and it was also pretty close to my house (3200 block of Greenbrier).
So since we had a party, I’m assuming that means we won tonight? McKinney North 5, Highland Park 1. Yeah, we lost and therefore won’t be heading down to Austin next week. The elimination this year didn’t impact me as much as it did last year, but I especially know how all the seniors feel since I felt the exact same way about 13 months ago (and I didn’t even ever play). Part of the reason I enjoyed working the playoffs this year is that I knew and was friends with all of them from the past 3 years that I had worked baseball. I will be doing football again in the fall, but I haven’t decided about baseball playoffs yet. I’ll know all of the returners, and in the few weeks I knew them a couple of them I became friends with, so we’ll just have to see. If we were still going to be living in HP I’d put it at probably a 95% chance I’d help out again; since we’re moving, however, that’s probably closer to 60%.
To all the seniors: good luck at college, and I’m sorry the season ended for you. Sons of Scotland Season……Conclude. (And elimination #4 for me…)
