So yesterday that whole part about how I didn’t have much to type about was a blatant lie, I just didn’t remember that it was at the time. Actually, the project that started out as a request from Andrew got approved on Sourceforge (it actually got approved 2 days ago, I just didn’t realize it until yesterday). I’m calling the program SICAT, and the link to the Sourceforge project page can be found here for anyone who would like to download and test it out. I haven’t uploaded (or even written) the documentation since it’s not feature complete, and I haven’t bothered to publicize it a whole lot yet, so I expect the people who do use it will simply contact me if they run into any issues.
As for information pertaining to today, I did go out to our new house again and discovered two interesting facts. First, the house appears to be wired for ethernet as there are outlets labeled “CAT 5″ almost everywhere there is a phone jack. That will be nice as desktops can stay with wired connections and wireless can be kept to laptops and other portable devices. Second, and even more interesting, is that AT&T doesn’t provide DSL at our new address. Uh oh. Well, seeing as how I sure as hell wasn’t going to get cable internet with Comcast, I decided to check Verizon. Nope, they don’t provide DSL to our new address either. So our new internet service? Verizon FiOS (aka Fiber). :)

Again a late post, and again nothing much to type about. I will note my fascination with the Fifa World Cup over the past few days; I never go out of my way to watch soccer any other time, but I’ve been turning on ESPN2 every day this past week when I wake up. And not only do I turn it on, but I actually pay attention for most of the time.
Tomorrow I’ll likely be going out to our new house again with my mom to start mentally placing my furniture. I think I’m going to start off putting my stuff in the room with the curved wall which will produce an interesting layout decision, but we’ll see how it goes.

Since a little after 7:00 I’ve been downstairs playing a board game with Robert and one of his friends. It’s called The Settlers of Catan and was pretty fun; the game isn’t really like anything else that I’ve played, although it could best be thought of as a cross between the Civilization PC series and the board games Monopoly and Risk.
Today wasn’t very post worthy either, but I figured I might as well get in this last minute post and see how long this streak would last. Unforunately the Mavs winning streak is over; they lost tonight but are still up 2-1 in their series.

With all the boxes I’ve filled up, you’d think that my room would be completely empty. Not the case at all, and there’s still quite a bit left for me to do. I probably still have close to half of my Legos to put up (which I’ll continue working on making a dent in after I’m done with this post). The study is close to being done with the exception of all my computer related stuff.
The Mavs being up 2-0 in the NBA Finals is fun as I’ve never watched it before since the involved teams didn’t include Dallas. The shift from even the semi-finals is huge, with large statues and a big pre-game introduction/ceremony each time that they show on TV. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the AAC (for a Stars game, never been for the Mavs, and that was back only in the first year or two of the AAC existing), but I’m perfectly content watching it from home.

There goes that posting streak. 7 days, enough to show that I actually was commited to posting each day and that it wasn’t just some random happening.
Part of the reason why I didn’t post yesterday is that I was tired from moving all my stuff out at UTD over into my new apartment. That took a couple of hours, and the heat definitely didn’t make the whole experience any better. but, now that that’s over, my attention gets to be focused on moving into our new house which will occur in just over 2 weeks. And that’s my life right now. Exciting, I know…

And you thought that I wasn’t going to get in a post today :). Yeah, I’m talking to you, Mr. Bot that’s indexing my page right now.
After being split over two nights, I finally got a copy of Vista Beta 2 that I installed this afternoon. While it’s still obviously in beta, it does look very nice. I will admit that I am typing this in XP right now because some applications (Trillian, for example (since AIM won’t install in Vista)) force Vista to drop out of Aero Glass, and part of using it is admittedly for the eye candy. So far I haven’t seen anything that would make me want to use Vista over XP immediately, but I’ll definitely keep booting into it to experiment (and also because the bootloader will default to it if I don’t pay attention during startup). Maybe in a week or so after I’ve sat down with it more I’ll post a list of things I like/dislike about it, but I think it will be a nice release once that time comes around.

This is my schedule of major events for the remainder of the month:
- June 10th: Move into new apartment at UTD
- June 16-17th: Garage sale
- June 26-30th: Move into new house
Maybe in list format that doesn’t seem like a bunch, but that’s this complete Saturday, all of next Friday and Saturday, and then Monday-Friday of the last week in June. Supposedly there’s supposed to be a “calm” somewhere before this storm, but that definitely wouldn’t be today. I spent almost 3 hours up at HP working for two different teachers, and then I still worked on packing up more of my stuff. Who knows what else will come up, but knowing me, it’ll definitely be a lot.

That’s right, this post should be nowhere even remotely close to being on my blog. Why you ask? Because I’m supposed to be down in Austin right now for the baseball finals tomorrow, that’s why. :(
Today I once again was reminded of two reasons why I’m going to enjoy moving: 1) The entire house will actually remain at a comfortable temperature instead of having one floor comfortable and then the other being too hot/cold, and 2) In the cases in the summer when the house does get overly hot, there will be a pool in our backyard. I’m thinking that probably mid-July after most of our stuff has been unpacked and life has settled down a little, I’m going to have a video game/pool “party” (notice the quotes) with Jarrett, Sam, and maybe one or two other of my friends.

This should be the 8th post in a daily streak (make the post on the 3rd actually on the 2nd, and then add one in on the 3rd), but it’s really just the 4th. Again, I have no real substance for this post, so feel free to make up a reason why I’m writing one. Perhaps it’s because I have nothing better to do with my time, maybe I feel insecure about myself unless I rant on my blog once per day, or it’s possible that somewhere embedded in these posts is a secret code to a friend in hiding (we’ll call him “Bob”) that I need to protect at all costs as a matter of national security.
You guess which one, but I’ll give you a hint: I’m perfectly secure :)

The title should give away the fact that nothing blog-worthy happened in the last 24 hours. No baseball, no game achievements, no purchases…all in all, a pretty boring day. I still like my new blog theme, so it’s probably here to stay for a good while. The only other thing I can think of to say is that these next few weeks will be very hectic with moving my stuff out at UTD into a new apartment, finish packing everything here, move everything to our new house, and then unpack everything. Yeah…that’s about it. Goob out.
