First Update

August 29th, 2005

Yeah, so it’s been 12 days since my last update. I thought about making a post lots of times, but I decided to wait until I had at least some time to get used to it out here. Do I like it? No, not really, at least not yet. I would much rather still be going to HP or at least doing what a bunch of other people in the North Dallas area are doing and simply drive out here from home for classes each day.

For just a quick breakdown of my week, my longest day is Wednesday (3 classes + math problem section), my shortest day is Friday (2 classes), and all other days I have 3 classes. On Tuesday and Thursday I’m done with classes at 1:45, and on Monday and Friday I’m done at 2:50. Then on Thursdays and Fridays at least through the beginning of November I’m going back to HP every evening to help work the JV and Varsity football games.

So, that’s my life currently. I’m glad there’s a 3 day weekend coming up, but it’s also our only holiday besides Thanksgiving before the end of the semester.

The Time Has Come

August 17th, 2005

I’m making this post from my house since I’m not sure of the internet situation out at UTD, but I’m about to take the rest of my stuff out to my room. My first class is tomorrow at 11:00 (9:00 one doesn’t start meeting until Tuesday), and then I’m meeting with the head trainer around 2:30 to discuss possibly becoming involved with the baseball team in the spring. After that, chances are I’ll go out to IKEA and get a bookshelf we saw last week to give me more room to keep my school stuff in.

I came close to reaching my goal of beating Kingdom Hearts, but I was only able to reach the final set of battles. I’m taking my GBA out there tonight to play Superstar Saga and hopefully finish it within the next two days. Anyway, time to start loading my computer and other stuff into my car. Here goes nothing…

Continuing Forward

August 15th, 2005

As with all the Metal Gear Solid games, I finished this one extremely early this morning due to the insane number and length of the cut scenes. Don’t get me wrong, the cut scenes are great for moving the plot along and make it seem much more like a movie (which some people have criticized the series for), but they’re soooo long! I’m about to start playing Kingdom Hearts again, but I remember so little of the actual story except for the overall concept that I hope Chain of Memories has a nice recap.

Completed Games:

  • Halo 2 (XBX) – 5/29
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (GCN) – 5/31
  • Psychonauts (XBX) (Start: 5/29) – 6/5
  • Brute Force (XBX) – 6/12
  • God of War (PS2) – 6/17
  • Feel the Magic: XY/XX (DS) – 6/25
  • WarioWare: Touched! (DS) (Start: 6/27) – 6/28
  • Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GCN) (Start: 7/23) – 7/28
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (PS2) (Start: 7/28) – 8/6
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2) (Start: 8/6) – 8/15

  • Pac Pix (DS) (Start: 6/26)

Changes Abound

August 12th, 2005

Considering that I haven’t finished Snake Eater yet, I’m cutting out .hack from my summer plans. Instead, my goal is to finish up Kingdom Hearts so I can have hopes of completing the GBA game prior to KH2 being released. Shouldn’t be too hard since I only have the final level to go, but the reason why it’s still unfinished is because I need to spend a little time leveling up prior to being ready to actually be able to survive the final part.

We also went out to UTD today to begin moving stuff into my apartment and will continue to do so tomorrow. Only 5 days left of summer for me before school officially starts. Am I ready? No, but as I’ve established before, it doesn’t really matter what my thoughts on the subject are…

Updates Lacking

August 6th, 2005

I usually don’t make updates in the middle of the afternoon, but if I don’t make one now, who knows when I’ll get around to it. MGS2 took a little longer than expected because the guide I had only covered the extras found in Substance instead of the walkthrough for the full game. I ordered the guide last week and used a FAQ for the first part, but I decided just to wait until the guide arrived to actually finish it. As with the last one, I finished it extremely early this morning and will be starting Snake Eater later this afternoon/evening. Since I’ll hold off on Acid until I have time which could be spent playing my PSP without taking away time from getting rid of my console backlog (read: once I’m at UTD), my next game up will be .hack//Mutation (the 2nd game of the series).
