Six Years Down…

(Note: No spoilers in the following post)

Right around 24 hours after I initially started reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I finished its close to 650 pages just before 3:00 this afternoon. My review? It started out a little slow, got better once the action shifted to Hogwarts, and the death…well, I knew it was going to happen in the book (based on what was revealed months ago), but I would have never have guessed the correct character. It definitely sets up the groundwork for a very interesting Book 7.

Andrew decided that he would rather skip reading the first few books since he had seen the movies, but at my recommendation he decided to go ahead and begin reading with Prisoner of Azkaban instead of Goblet of Fire. I still think that they left too much out of that movie that maybe isn’t crucial to the plot but still helps to understand the world better. Considering the length of Goblet of Fire, I wonder what will be left out of this adaptation, since I doubt they would try to pull a LotR. Guess we’ll know come November…
