New Beta
So many things to write about, I just decided to pick a title that covered one of them instead of trying to come up with some hopefully witty title or a broad statement that encompasses my entire life. The title refers to Jak X: Combat Racing which I got from Sony yesterday. Naughty Dog did a good job with the vehicle portions of Jak 3, and this game pretty much just takes that part of the game and creates a multiplayer (possibly a single player mode in the final version, can’t remember) racing/deathmatch game which is pretty fun.
The majority of the parts for my desktop are on their way to me right now with only the two DVD drives left to be ordered. I know exactly what I want my laptop to be, but I’ll wait a few weeks until I’m hopefully in a better mood about getting it. This is the third year (to the month) that we’ve had our current desktop, so based on our past schedule it would be time to get a new one anyway, but I’m really not even that excited about it. This is very contradictory to my normal feelings about spending other people’s money/having stuff bought for me, but I think I know what’s keeping me from being happier. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a big fan of change, but in just over a month, I’m about to get the biggest change I’ve seen. Getting these new computers is just an indicator that this change is approaching much faster than I want it to, and I’ll be honest and say that I would gladly not spend all this money and keep my life the way it’s been. That’s obviously not an option though, so I might as well try and be happy about it.
Also, in anticipation of tomorrow, I started to re-read HP and the Order of the Phoenix today. Actually, I read the first 2 chapters of it last Sunday before my surgery, but today I managed close to 500 pages. Since I won’t be starting the new book until Sunday (my grandmother is going to buy it tomorrow, and she’ll read it in a matter of hours), I shouldn’t have any problem finishing the remaining 300 or so pages.
