Final score of our first game of the season :(
Sometime tomorrow (well, technically today) when I’m not super tired I’ll post the cow experience that we had. Quite amusing to say the least…

Well, the latest schedule “update” (not really a change) has been made and showed up officially on my ex-chemistry teacher’s 1st Period role today. Normally this would mean that I would be a Chemistry PAP (TAG) student assistant, except for one minor detail: she’s the Varsity Cheerleading sponsor, so that’s what she has as her 1st period class. I guess that makes me the Cheerleading student assistant :)
Summer I guess is now officially over. In just over 10 hours from right now, school starts for a whole bunch of districts in the Dallas area including HP. And that also means football practice until 6:00 or so every night. Here’s the most recent revision of my schedule:
1st Period – Student Assistant
2nd Period – Government
3rd Period – Calculus BC AP
4th Period – English IV AP
5th Period – Independent Study
6th Period – Lunch
7th Period – Biology II AP
8th Period – Athletic Trainer
Hopefully that won’t change anymore (except for a teacher switch that I’m not sure if it’s been done in the computers yet) since it’s already gone through 2 revisions.
Oh yeah, and the next countdown? T-286 Days (# of calendar days until May 20, 2005)
Maybe it’s because I’ve never seen any of the previous Alien or Predator movies, maybe it’s because I liked the movie Resident Evil, but I actually didn’t find this movie to be all that bad. But then again, this is coming from a person who absolutely hated Shrek the first time he saw it (but later came to his senses and realized that it was one of the two best animated movies ever made, the other being Pixar’s Monsters Inc.), so my movie reviewing abilites may not quite be on par with the rest of the world’s. Is it worth a DVD purchase? The jury is still out on that question, but I definitely give the movie an overall thumbs up.
Since there were no big movies that came out today that I wanted to see (although I probably will rent Collateral when it comes out on DVD), the movie that made today’s cut was The Manchurian Candidate. Well, the reviews were definitely right on this one; it was an extremely good movie and a welcome change from last week. If you’ve seen the original (I haven’t), it supposedly changes quite a bit of stuff up (such as who is running for office, etc.). No complaints from me though, and it’s definitely one of my recommended movies of the summer.
Two words, or rather a word and a number:
Doom. 3.
Wow….yeah, that’s probably the best word to describe it. Even though I don’t have the most powerful computer in the world (P4 2.0, 768 RAM, GeForce 4 Ti 4600 128 MB video card), this game still looks incredible. And even though it’s not going to scare the living daylights out of you every 3 seconds (well, it might at harder difficulty levels; I’m playing on the easiest setting and only at the very beginning of the 4th “mission”), this is a much better source for being scared than that pathetic excuse for a movie in general called The Village.
